I have been painting for over 40 years. After college at the University of Notre Dame, where I first took a few studio art courses, I attended art schools in Boston and Philadelphia, including the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. After leaving art school, I moved to Cape Cod and was an art reviewer for the Provincetown Paper but being low on money most of the time, I decided to go to law school. After law school, I served in the US Navy as a JAG officer and continued to paint in my spare time. After getting out of the Navy, I moved to Lancaster County to serve as a prosecutor with the DA’s Office. I have since moved on to corporate practice, which affords me more time to paint. Since studying in the Great Books Program at Notre Dame, I have carried with me a love of reflection and philosophizing on our human condition. Most recently, I have been exploring the viewpoints of a post-modern perspective. My recent art work explores some of the themes of the post-modern perspective, namely the skepticism of meta-narratives, questions of identity and social constructs and the creation of meaning. Through my art work, I seek to participate in a discussion of these topics and my goal is to touch others with a work of beauty to stimulate in them a wonder and appreciation of life and a curiosity and search for meaning
