Current Volunteering & Employment Opportunities at CFEVA

Employment

PHENND Fellows-Artist Sustainability Program Coordinator

The VISTA will work with CFEVA to continue outreach within the arts community, gathering documentation of the needs of artists and the organizations that support them in Philadelphia as we work towards meeting the standards for the W.A.G.E. program, putting more funding directly in the hands of artists to develop their work. The challenge of any non-profit is to remain financially stable while increasing its charitable work in its community. To remove any implied or actual barriers to artists’ participation with CFEVA’s programs, we must inspire support from corporate, foundation and individual donors to remove any cost burden to CFEVA’s career development programs for artists. Therefore, the VISTA will also assist in fundraising initiatives including event planning, direct mail campaigns, and art sales. There will also be opportunities to engage in our programs such as exhibition installations and visits to artist studios. Click here to learn more and apply.

Volunteering

CFEVA's programs and events thrive thanks to the dedicated service of individuals who volunteer their time and energy to support our mission of advancing the careers of Philadelphia's emerging visual artists. Want to get more involved as a CFEVA volunteer? EMAIL US!

Internships

Our internships are available to (undergraduate/graduate) college students and recent college graduates to get to know a key player in the regional support system for visual artists. In this small non-profit arts organization, interns will have a unique hands-on experience, building upon skills and experiences learned in the classroom and applied in the field. Interns work closely with the CFEVA Staff on a diverse range of projects: installing exhibitions, programmatic strategy development, exhibition management, event promotion, social media management, and helping artists with community engagement projects across the city.

Interns will assist with:

  • Online art sales

  • General office administration, including regularly updating our website and social media

  • Assisting with membership outreach and mailings

  • Photographing events

  • Assisting with exhibition planning and research

  • Installation and deinstallation of exhibitions in Philadelphia as needed

  • Fundraising and development projects including technical support and database entry

  • Special events and openings, via Zoom and in person as needed

Interns can expect to work with us in-person and for remote opportunities, in our gallery and other locations in Philadelphia. Interns should be eager to learn, have a good work ethic and attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp/Constant Contact, Canva, CRM databases, and Squarespace a plus. This is an unpaid position. In lieu of compensation we are happy to work with interns to achieve academic credit.

We review applications for interns on a rolling basis. To apply please send your resume, cover letter, and at least 2 references to lily@cfeva.org describing your interest in CFEVA.
