Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST), a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, is the largest tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the region, a true celebration of the contribution of artists to the vibrancy of Philadelphia, and one of the premier open studio tour events in the country. Artists, creative spaces and neighborhood partners are all vital to the rebuilding of our communities post-pandemic, and are all illuminated through POST. Join us this October, as you discover why across two weekends, POST is a beacon of local creative & business practice and highlights the best results of a booming artist culture.

POST 2024 will return this October, with studios and creative spaces organized based on their location relative to Broad Street. Studios open West of Broad on October 19 & 20, Studios open East of Broad on October 26 & 27, 12-6pm all four days.

The Philadelphia Open Studio Tours allows visitors to become immersed in their local art studios and businesses, both in their neighborhood and around the city.

The Open Studio Tours was founded in 1999 by artist Karen Brown with 13 participating artists that first year. The event took off quickly...it grew organically in those first few years and was managed by a visionary group of volunteers. Beginning in 2005, its growth was taken to a new level when the volunteer committee approached The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) to formally adopt the Open Studio Tours as a program - which fit perfectly with our capacity at the time and the organization's ongoing mission. Since then, CFEVA's staff, leadership, and Board continue to provide extraordinary support to the program and fuel new levels of its advancement throughout the region and the country

A city-wide and free-of-charge event, POST illuminates the connections offered through the practice and experience of arts within day-to-day life. Witnessing art in the making allows the visitor to learn why creative endeavor contributes to the cultural fabric of our complex city. Visiting artists right in their studios fosters a community that values the artist both for themselves and for others. It breeds more appreciation for and participation in the recent creative boom and what we hope is a restored art scene.
