Celebrate Forty Years of Fellowship!

Moving Philadelphia Artists Forward, Together.

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) was founded in 1983 as the Creative Artist Network by Felicity R. “Bebe” Benoliel to support the creative practices and professional development of Greater Philadelphia's emerging visual artists. Today, CFEVA’s programming serves more than 500,000 individuals annually, including an extensive network of more than 1,000 artists. Now in our fourth decade, we have a renewed commitment to provide relevant, impactful programs that support, equip, and position artists as valuable contributors to our region’s vitality, cultural identity, and livability.

Our flagship program, the Visual Artist Fellowship (VAF), has served artists for over forty years.  Over 300 artist Fellows have moved through this core program and we are delighted to highlight its impact and success. We could not do it without our champion supporters. We hope you will join us all year long as we innovate and move visual art practices forward.

MOVING ARTISTS FORWARD: CFEVA's ANNUAL FUND

CFEVA needs your financial support now more than ever so that we can continue to execute and expand flagship mentoring programs for artists such The Visual Artist Fellowship, and community programs such as our NewCourtland Senior Initiative Partnership, which is powered by teaching artists. Gifts over $500 will add your name to our Gallery Wall!

We have been an integral driver of artist-powered programming in this special place, where creative endeavor blossoms, where socially-engaged citizens thrive, and where diverse audiences interact consistently with art. And we cannot do it alone. Artists who can sustain their art practice stay in Philadelphia to make art for all of us to enjoy.
