Annette Monnier joined the University City Arts League as Executive Director in January 2015, bringing over 15 years of administrative cultural experience to her position. Prior to that Annette worked as the Outreach Program Director at The Clay Studio since 2008, serving as a great communicator between organizations, school districts, and teaching artists, annually organizing over 75 art residencies at 55-60 different schools. A founding member and curator for two seminal alternative institutions in Philadelphia; Black Floor and Copy Gallery, Annette has helped implement and plan notable exhibitions including New Works by Shepard Fairy and La Boca Del Lobo (works by Swoon) both at Black Floor Gallery. Annette was also an integral part of Black Floor Gallery's exhibition at The Institute for Contemporary Art, Locally Localized Gravity in 2007. Annette was a founding curatorial member of PRACTICE, a space devoted to experimental, community, and contextual art practices and she also keeps up with her own art practice (black and white drawing) from time to time.

A strong believer and advocate of the local art community, Annette has been a peer-review panelist for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, served as a guest critic and panelist at the University of the Arts, and has taught Graduate Studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She is currently a board member of artblog.org.
