The Divided Line: Part II
May 16, 2019 to October 25, 2019
Inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, The Divided Line: Part II directly links Plato’s theory of knowledge which seeks to explore the bondage of illusion to the freedom of rational perception and understanding. Moving from the darkness of a cave’s entrance to the hanging lines of color, the installation encourages the viewer to connect the illusion of the cave and that which connects us to a deeper knowledge, light, and understanding within our contemporary discourse.
Part II references a previous installation that depicted the inside of the cave.
