CFEVA welcomes new President and CEO
Holly Lentz Kleeman new President and CEO
CFEVA is delighted to welcome Holly Lentz Kleeman as our new President and CEO. Lentz Kleeman comes to us from Duane Morris LLP, a global law firm with corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, where she served as Senior Marketing Manager. In addition to legal marketing, Lentz Kleeman spent thirteen years in higher-education administration while also working as an illustrator and designer. "Holly brings essential new talents to her role as CEO,” says Barnes, “which complement perfectly CFEVA’s strategic ambitions over the next several years. Building upon Maida’s legacy of stabilization and growth, Holly comes at the perfect time to lead us in expanding our role in the community and promoting CFEVA’s name and mission to wider audiences throughout and beyond Philadelphia.” Lentz Kleeman has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, as well as a Specialist degree in Higher Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She also holds a Master of Science degree from Texas A & M University.

Buy Tickets for the 2007-2008 Direct Dialogues Lecture Series
The Center For Emerging Visual Artists is pleased to announce The 2007-2008 Direct Dialogues Lecture Series. Through this nine-part series, artists are invited to learn the nuts and bolts of a successful career in the arts. Each session begins at 5:30pm and will take place at The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (237 South 18th Street, Suite 3A, Philadelphia PA). Direct Dialogue topics include: Documenting Your Work, Making the Most of Opportunities Beyond the Gallery, Business Planning for Artists, Pricing Your Artwork, Grants for Artists, Financial Planning for Artists, Writing for Artists (Proposals and Grants), Exhibiting in Public and Corporate Spaces, and The Los Angeles Art Market. Call for Curators: Eighth Annual Emerging Curator Exhibition The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (Philadelphia PA) The Center for Emerging Visual Artists’ Felicity R. "Bebe" Benoliel Gallery is currently accepting proposals from emerging curators for its Eighth Annual Visiting Curator Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Spring 2009. Once chosen, the curator will be solely responsible for selecting the artists and artworks for an exhibition. Each exhibition must consist of at least 4 artists. The applicant may include all media in the proposal; however preference will be given to proposals that include artwork that can be accommodated in our gallery. Curators must live within 100 miles of Philadelphia. Compensation: Curators will be compensated $500 per exhibition. Curators must submit the following to be eligible: -A curator's statement detailing the proposed exhibition (up to 2 pages) -A current resume -A list of artists included in the exhibition -Digital images or slides from of at least 4 included artists -Current resumes of all the included artists -A self-addressed, stamped envelope for return shipping Application deadline: 8/01/08 Application fee: $10.00 For more information or to receive a gallery floor-plan please contact Genevieve Coutroubis at 215 546-7775 x11 or genevieve@cfeva.org. Open to all Visual Artists: CFEVA’S New Courtland Artist Fellowship

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), in partnership with New Courtland Elder Services (NCES), is pleased to offer Philadelphia area artists the opportunity to participate in an exciting, new, community-based fellowship. Through the New Courtland Artist Fellowship, eight artists will be selected to bring innovative and engaging art-making to residents of NCES facilities. In order to apply, artists are asked to develop an intergenerational project that brings New Courtland’s residents together with school age children/teens to create a meaningful experience and an exciting artistic project. Work created by residents and their school age partners during the 2008 Fellowship Program will be exhibited with the work of the artist fellows in a large, well publicized exhibition entitled Art is Ageless. Accepted artists will receive a fellowship award of $2,500. Once artists receive this award they will be responsible for conducting ten 1.5 hour workshops, attending one sensitivity training session and participating in the Art is Ageless exhibition in Fall 2008. Artists will also be separately compensated for purchasing all necessary art supplies and professionally presenting the artwork created in their program for the final exhibition. Community Exhibitions
The Center For Emerging Visual Artists (Philadelphia PA)
The Center is currently accepting applications to join our Regional Community Arts Program (RCAP) Artist Registry. Artists in the registry will be eligible to participate in The Center's Community Exhibition Program, which includes exhibitions in public spaces such as hospitals, schools, parks, and more.
Requirements:
-Must be interested in exhibiting in public spaces
-Must live within 90 miles of Philadelphia
-Works submitted must be available and ready to hang/install
Submission Guidelines: Please send up to 20 slides or digital images, a slide list (name, title, dimensions, medium, and price), and a resume. Alumni Travel Grant Program
Career Development Program Opportunity
We are very pleased to announce our Alumni Travel Grant Program. These grants will give alumni of The Center's Career Development Program opportunities to further their artistic and professional development in exciting, challenging ways not always financially feasible for them. Grantees will be selected by members of The Center's esteemed Board of Artistic Advisors. Three $5,000.00 grants are available each year for travel anywhere in the world.
